Robert L. Rathsack, 57, of Pleasant Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday at home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Edmund Olson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Rathsack was born July 21, 1911, at Manitowoc, son of the late Walter L.
Rathsack and Mrs. Laura M. Hansen Rathsack. On Oct. 29, 1930, he married Esther
Ida Koeller at Woodstock, Ill., and the couple established residence at Manitowoc.
He worked 38 years for Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., retiring a year ago, was a
member of the Boilermakers Local 443 and had been active in the Fraternal Orders
of Eagles Aerie No. 706, the Manitowoc County Sheriff and Deputies Assn. and the
church Brotherhood until he became ill.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Robert W., of Branch; two daughters, Mrs. Lou
(Marian) Stevens of Milwaukee and Mrs. Leo (Nancy) Naidl, of Kellnersville; mother,
Mrs. Walter Rathsack, of Manitowoc; two brothers, Joseph C. and Sterling L. of
Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Peterson, of San Mateo, Calif., and Mrs. John
Bebow, of Manitowoc; and 16 grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Friday
until Saturday noon and at the church until time of services.
