Peggy Wheeler Wilson, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 1, at St. Thomas Hospital. Mrs. Wilson was born in Betsy Layne, Ky., and was a longtime resident of Franklin. She was a past member of the Williamson County School Board and previously taught school at Fairfax Academy and was a former buyer for womens clothing for Castner Knott. Mrs. Wilson was a lifelong member of the Republican Party and a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe M. Wilson. Survivors include a son, John Christopher Wilson and his wife Shirley of Maryville; a daughter, Ann Simmons Gordon of Canton, Ga.; a sister, Barbara McPherson of Paintsville, Ky.; two grandchildren...; and a great-grandchild... was in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.... -- 2000/1/5.
