A resident of Paintsville,she was a retired deputy county court clerk,a 50 year member of No. 320 Eastern Star,Past Grand Matron,Past District Governor for District 7 Republican party,and Woman of the Year for 1966 Republican party.
She was preceded in death in 1968 by her husband, Charles Orion Wheeler, Sr.
Surviving are a son, C.O. "Buzzie" Wheeler of Paintsville, two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Wheeler Wilson of Franklin,TN, and Mrs. Barbara Wheeler of McPherson of Paintsville; two sisters, Mrs. Ridda Finlayson of Lexington and Mrs. Julia Stafford of Paintsville;seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 16 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sam Glenn officiating.Burial was in the Mayo Cemetery in Paintsville with Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
