Ralph Kreiser was born in New Salem, Allegan Co., Michigan to Mathias Kreiser and Martha VanDyke. His father a native of Rhineland, Germany and mother from the Netherlands. He was raised at St. Mary's Parish, New Salem marrying Mary Catherine Miller (Müller) on Nov. 06, 1887 at St. Francis Church, Traverse City by Rev. Father Theophilus Nyssen. Ralph built a farm house on Miller Rd. in Hannah, Grand Traverse Co., about 3 miles West of St. Mary's Church, known as "Crystal Springs Farm". Wife, Mary passed away from tuberculosis on January 21, 1936.
Remarried to widow, Margaret Mort Kraemer on Nov 05, 1936 at St. Mary, Hannah.
After Ralph's death there was a dispute in court between his children and second wife over ownership of farm and property with son, Fritz eventually inheriting.
Children, Lena and Joe relocated to Grand Rapids area. Fritz and Anna Catherine remained in Hannah. Son, Leo relocated to Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Leo fought in WW1 for USA and WW2 for Canada.
Ralph had two brothers who also settled Traverse City area. John at Hannah and Nick at Kingsley.
