Mabel M. Abernathy
Mabel M. (Holsinger) Abernathy, 71, Anderson, died Friday at a local nursing home after an extended illness.
She was born Oct 12, 1920, in Madison County and was a life long resident. She retired from I Guide Lamp 1980 after 36 years of employment and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 663,
Victory Baptist Church and Victory Baptist Senior Saints.

Survivors include a son, Donald D. Abernathy of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Judith A.) Reeves of O'Fallon, ILL. and Mrs. John (Deanna K.) Hardin of Indianpolis;
four brothers, John Jacob of Noblesville, David Holsinger of Alexandria, Ralph Holsinger of Gaston and Ronald Holsinger of Anderson;
seven sisters, Beula Phipps of Houston, Texas, Ruby Lemeron of Summitville, Sylvia Ashby of Chesterfield, Mildred Jones of Anderson,
Eva White of Lapel, Mary Downey of Jamestown, Ky., and Barbara Denson of Anderson; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Janet Gamble, died Oct. 7,1957.
Services will be at 11:30 a,m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home with Pastor Ken King officiating.
Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Victory Baptist Church.
