Emil immigrated in 1891. His parents were John Moschkau and Anna Friemut (as listed on Adam's death certificate which was filled out by Emil).
Emil's naturalization papers on file in Barron County say he was from Russia. His death certificate says he was born in Poland. His brother Adam's death certificate says Adam was born in Germany. Letters from Emil's stepfather are postmarked Lipno which was claimed by Prussia at the time Emil immigrated, then by Germany and is currently a part of Poland.
Emil married Emilie Schmalholtz in the old country and had one daughter Otillia.
After Emilie died, Emil remarried Wilhelmenia Ernst "Minnie" and had 12 more children: John, David, Bertha, Emil, Carl, Augusta, Arthur, Emma, Edward, "J", Marie, and Rosalie.
