HAWK RUN - George Harold "Pud" Mason, 77, a resident of Hawk Run, died Tuesday, May 25, 1993 at 10 p.m., at the Philipsburg Area Hospital.
He was the son of the late George and Eva (Jones) Mason.
He was married to the former Betty Kashnick, who preceded him in death in 1986.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Rita Musser of Hawk Run; one son, Gary Mason of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren; one sister, Hilma Galley of Hawk Run; and one brother, Wesley Mason of Chulavista, Calif.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Mason was preceded in death by one grandson.
Mr. Mason was a Protestant by faith. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and was a retired coalminer.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from the chapel of the Strange and Weaver, Home for Funerals, Morrisdale, with the Rev. John Hoover officiating.
Interment will be in the Ashcroft Cemetery, Hawk Run.
Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military graveside services will be held.
