HAYSI, Va. – Virginia Bailey, age 85, of Route 2, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2005 in Mountain View Health Care in Elkhorn City, Ky. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late George and Sarah Deel Blankenship. She was a homemaker and a member of Little Sarah Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bailey; a daughter, Priscilla Deel; a grandson, Gregory Deel; a great-grandson, Andrew Burton; five brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Katie (Trinkle) Yates of Clintwood; Geneva (Jerry) Willis of Stanley, NC and Emmal (Carl) Blankenship of Haysi; one son, Steve (Rita) Bailey of Haysi; 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Charles Wright, Roger Coleman, Danny Oquinn and Allen Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery, Route 2, Haysi. Grandsons, great-grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at the funeral home where an evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
