CLINTWOOD, VA - Katie Louise Yates, age 83 of Big Ridge Road, passed away August 29,2022 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA. Born in Buchanan County she was the daughter of the late Edward and Virginia Blankenship Bailey. She was a member of Little Sarah Old Regular Baptist Church and was last employed as a cashier at a grocery store.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Trinkle Yates and a sister, Priscilla Deel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders, Roger Coleman, Denny Deel, Mark Justice and Earl Dean Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the Yates Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearer will be Cain Yates.
