Roy Failor, age 87 of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Tuesday evening, October 22, 2013 at the Golden Living Center. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, October 25th at 3:00 pm, at the Neodesha City Cemetery under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, October 24th from 9 am to 7 pm with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 pm. The family has suggested memorials be made to the Wilson Medical Center Foundation and may be left with the funeral home.

Roy was born October 20, 1926 in Melvern, Kansas to Roy and Ethel (Bone) Failor. He attended school in Benton, Kansas. He joined the US Army on January 25, 1945 and was honorably discharged on November 25, 1946. Roy married Betty Shockly on March 28, 1949 in Neodesha, Kansas, she preceded him in death in 1998. He was a welder and plant superintendent for MEC Company in Neodesha for 39 years. Roy was a member of The Masonic Lodge in Thayer, Kansas and life member of VFW Post 3018 in Fredonia, Kansas. He was also a Boy Scout Leader for a number of years and assisted in building the Girl Scout House.

Roy is survived by a daughter Donna Queen, of Neodesha, Kansas; son John Failor, of Grapevine, Texas; three sisters Florence York, of Thayer, Kansas, Beulah Mc Dowell, of El Dorado, Kansas and Elaine Lonborg, of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roy was preceded in death by, one son Butch Failor; two sisters Anna Grace Mustain and Bernite Hallbauer.
