McALEVY'S FORT - Elizabeth 'Betty Ann' (Wilson) Bagshaw, 73, of 13133 Greenwood Road, McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon, died at 12:56 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at her home.
Born March 14, 1935, in South Fork, she was a daughter of the late Theodore L. 'Bubby' Wilson, who died May 16, 2006, and Bernice C. (Bracken) Wilson, who died Dec. 27, 2000. Her husband, H. Samuel Bagshaw, whom she married on April 14, 1956, survives.
She is also survived by a son, Gary D. Bagshaw and wife Dee, of State College, two granddaughters, Samantha Elizabeth Bagshaw and Shannon Nicole Bagshaw, both of Winchester, Va., siblings, Mary Joyce Joll, of Munhall, and Gary L. Wilson and wife Pat, of McAlevy's Fort.
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry L. Bagshaw, on March 22, 2003, and a brother, Galen L. Wilson, in Feb. 1977.
Betty Ann graduated in 1956 from the Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing, as a registered nurse. She was employed at JC Blair Memorial Hospital, Centre Community Hospital, and her most recent employment was with the State Correctional Institute in Smithfield where she retired in 1982.
She was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in McAlevy's Fort, and a member of the Lewistown Hospital Alumni Association. Betty Ann enjoyed cooking and baking for her family as well as taking day trips to Atlantic City.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Evelyn Wald officiating. Interment will take place immediately following at St. Stephen's Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville.
