He married Elender "Ellen" Wright.
They had two sons: William Daniel & James.
Andrew served as a Private in Co. C., 29th Reg't Tennessee Infantry, CSA. He enlisted 1 Aug 1861, Cumberland Gap. On a company muster roll dated 15 Jan 1864, it states that he died Apr 1862. It seems odd that his death would appear on a roll dated nearly two years later, so his date of death is in question.
Andrew's great-great grandson Scott wrote: "I'm guessing he died of disease during his units retreat from Shiloh otherwise they would have listed him as killed in action. The records I have found mention only that he died in April '62 (that's how I placed him at Shiloh, his unit was there). He was probably buried near Corinth MS in a mass grave or near a field hospital."
Scott's comment, of course, assumes the April 1862 date is correct.
