Verta Earline Hamm, 83, Florence, Ala., died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County.
Mrs. Hamm is survived by her son, Johnny Hamm and wife, Connie, Killen, Ala.; daughter, Brenda Skipworth and husband, Jerry, Florence, Ala.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.Mrs. Hamm was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hamm; brothers, John Potts and Elmer Patton; and sisters, Pearliene Patton, Exine Faust and Ann Hurn.Pallbearers will include Micheal Hamm, Dewayne Coker, Doug Durham, Randy Durham, Danny Hamm and Don Faust.Mrs. Hamm was retired from Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home.She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ until moving to Florence and became a member of Florence Boulevard Church of Christ.Mrs. Hamm was a beloved mother and grandmother whose loving smile will be missed by all. The family would like to express a special thanks to the entire staff of Glenwood.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Glenwood Activities of Florence Boulevard Church of Christ Ladies Bible Class.Greenview Funeral Home of Florence is directing
