Alonza J. Ahalt, well-known and esteemed farmer of near Middletown, died at his home Monday afternoon after a lengthy illness, aged 76 years.
He was a native of Middletown Valley, a son of the late Joshua D. and Laura Shafer Ahalt and a devout member of the Lutheran church at Middletown.
Surviving are his widow Mrs. Hattie Flook Ahalt; three sons, Harold A. Ahalt, Watsontown, Pa.; Edgar F. Ahalt, Hyattsville; Arthur M. Ahalt, College Park; a brother, Albert M. Ahalt, Middletown; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body rests at the funeral home in Middletown, where friends may call after 6 o'clock this evening. Funeral services will be held there Wednesday 2 p.m. Rev. Carroll Boyer, will officiate. Interment in Middletown Lutheran Cemetery. Gladhill Co., funeral directors.
