Gladys was born in Eaton California November 28, 1919 to Lou and Hazel Adkins. She moved to Durham as a small child, and attended schools there. She graduated from Durham High School. Gladys worked for the Continental Nut Company and also the Myers Nut Company here in Chico for over 12 years , she retired in 1980. She loved sewing, reading, dancing, and gardening.
Gladys is survived by four daughters: Barbara Brown of Red Bluff, Calif., Judy O'Farrell of Fairbanks, Alaska, Linda Iden and her husband Merlin of Hanford, Calif., and Sharon Boster and her husband Dale of Red Bluff; two sons: Patrick O'Farrell of Red Bluff, and Michael O'Farrell of Willows, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; also two sisters: Thelma Snowden of Durham, Calif, and Maxine Killingsworth of Fall River Mills, Calif.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Pat O'Farrell in 1998 in Chico.
Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the American Heart association or to the Juvenile Diabetes Association in care of the Brusie Funeral Home who is in charge of all funeral arrangements. Published in Chico Enterprise-Record on March 16, 2006.
