Maxine Louise Adkins November 19, 1929 and died Maxine Louise Killingsworth June 2, 2017 aged 87. Born and lived most of her life in Durham. She was the last child of 12 eight of which made it to adulthood. She lived her last 15 years in the Fall River Mills/McArthur area where she could be close to her grandchildren, Thomas and Amber whom she adored. Attended the Durham school system up to Fall of her Senior year when she dropped out to help raise her new niece Sharon.

Married to Thomas Alton Killingsworth July 3, 1949, birthed and raised four boys, Barry 1953, Rick 1957, Wade 1959 and Mark 1963. After high school she worked as a switchboard operator in Chico and Georgia. Her husband Tom was stationed in Georgia in the Air Force during part of the Korean War. After that she worked as a seasonal worker during and after the local nut harvest season. She went back to school at Butte College in 1986 and earned her CNA Certificate in 1987.

She worked mostly in home health care in her late 50's through mid 60's until she retired. She enjoyed social dancing in her 50's and 60's, reading Louis L'Amour and Romance novels most of her life, camping, and crosswords. Her ashes will be buried at the Durham Cemetery at 10:00am on Saturday June 17. There will be a potluck gathering for friends and family at the Durham Community Park immediately following the graveside service. Published in Chico Enterprise-Record on June 13, 2017.
