James "Jim" Lane, 64, of Riverside, MO died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at his home. The son of Fred and Clema (Dennis) Lane, he was born May 6, 1946 at Hecla, MO. On March 24, 2001, he married Sharon Helms in Brookfield, MO.

He is survived by his wife Sharon of the home; a son, Zachary Lane of Kansas city, MO; one daughter, Kasey Lane of Kansas City, MO; Aaron Helms of the home; three brothers, Charles Lane of Brookfield, MO, Ronnie Lane of Farmington, MO, and Bob Graham of Chillicothe, MO; five sisters, Donna Sego of Chillicothe, MO, Cleo Lane of Milan, MO, Carolyn Roberts, Bonnie Van Dusseldorp, and Nora Rice, all of Brookfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents and one sister, Deloris Lane.

Jim lived in the Kansas City area for many years and in Riverside for the past six years. He owned and operated Lane's Home Improvement. Jim was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the 9th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army Field Artillery. He was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God and was very active in the local congregation. Jim loved his family, visiting with old friends, and traveling the back roads around the area.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Browning, MO with Mr. Cal Culpepper, Minister of the Philadelphia Church of God, Regional Director, officiating. Burial was in the locust Valley Cemetery west of Browning with Military Rites by American Legion Post 274 of Browning. Casket bearers were his family and friends.
