James Edward Andrew, 62, a life-long resident of Adams county, died at his home in Hilltown, Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 o’clock, following an illness of ten weeks from a heart condition.
He was a son of the late George W. and Sophia (Moritz) Andrew, and was born near Orrtanna, and had always lived in the vicinity of Orrtanna and Cashtown. He was a farmer.
Surviving are his widow, whose maiden name was Miss Elma Briggs, and the following sons and daughters:
Harry Andrew, Lyndonville, New York; Roy Clyde Andrew, and J. Clarence Andrew, Cashtown; Mrs. Earl Smith, Gettysburg; Mrs. Shelby Finkboner, Hilltown; Mrs. Clifford Biesecker, Orrtanna, and Miss Dorothy E. Andrew, at home. Twenty-one grandchildren also survive.
Brothers and sisters surviving are John A. Andrew, Thornton, Iowa; William O. Andrews, McKnightstown; Calvin J. Andrew, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Lottie Little, Gettysburg, and Mrs. Laura Walter, Chambersburg.
Mr. Andrew was a member of Gettysburg aerie, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Cashtown Reformed church.
Funeral services from the home of his son, J. Clarence Andrew, Cashtown, Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock, the Rev. G. Howard Koons officiating. Interment at Flohr’s church cemetery.
