Esther Estelle Gentry Armstrong, 88, Rt.#1, Arthur City, died Saturday at McCuistion Regional Medical Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home will conduct services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at Forest Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Sparks officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Esther was born in Grant, OK, a daughter of Edward Watson Gentry and Amanda Mittalene "Mittie" Booth.

She married Joe Armstrong on September 1, 1928, in Chicota. He died on February 19, 1984.

She was a member of Chicota Assembly of God Church.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Cloyce R. Armstrong; four brothers, Cecil Gentry, Charlie Jordan, Chester Gentry, and Herbert Jordan; a sister, Jewel Johnson.

Surviving are a daughter, Veda Jo (Claud) Wortham of Dallas; daughter-in-law, Billie Armstrong of Chicota; 5 grandchildren, Reavis Wortham of Dallas, Rocky Wortham of Powderly, Roger Armstrong of Powderly, Susan & Stacy Armstrong of Paris; 6 great-grandchildren, Brandie Atwooe, Rocky L. Wortham II, Alexious Wortham, Chelsea Wortham, Hunter Armstrong, and Kaitlan Armstrong; one great-great-grandchild, Alyssa Atwood; sisters, Nonzalee Johns, Neva Jo Palmer, Dona Lou Warren, Dena Ervin; two aunts, Bertha Kinsworthy and Opal Hardy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Sparks, Derryl Johns, Gerald Armstrong, Bob Armstrong, Brad Vanderburg, and Tony Moore.
