A.L. Threatt of Lancaster Succumbs to Disease

Lancaster, June 17. - A.L. Threatt died last night of pellagra*. He was a son of the late Dr. T. Threatt of Chesterfield county and was about 53 years old. He moved to Lancaster from Chesterfield about 12 years ago. He leaves a widow and several children. The remains were taken today to White Plains, Chesterfield county, for burial.

*Symptoms of pellagra were eventually discovered to be a caused by a severe vitamin B3 (Niacin) deficiency.

Many of the older children worked at the cotton mill.

According to 1910 census, father of 12 children with 10 still living.

-Lumous A. Threatt (son) - born Oct 1881 per census
(b. June 5, 1883 according to draft card).

Still need burial information for Clarence.
