An interesting tidbit of family lore is that John A. Bower's daughter, Joan, from his first marriage to Lotus Burlingame, married the son Duane, of his 2nd wife Edith, from her marriage to Floyd Zieger. This made John the father-in-law of his step-son.

John shares a headstone and plot with his first wife, Lotus (Burlingame) Bower. His second wife, Edith Mae (Smith) Bower is buried alongside her third husband, Lee R. Cox in the same cemetery.
