Aubine Sharpless, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. U. B. Sharpless, died at her home in Effingham about four o'clock Tuesday morning, February 20. She was born in Monrovia seven years ago on the morning of the same date. About six weeks ago Aubine was taken sick with typhoid. She appeared to be recovering from this when about a week before her death pneumonia set in and her weakened constitution was not able to stand it. Besides her father and mother three sisters survive her; Gladys, Margaret and Lois. The funeral was held from the Methodist church at Effingham Thursday at 2:00 p. m., and the burial took place in the Monrovia cemetery. Aubine Sharpless was next to the youngest of the family of four daughters and a very bright and lovely girl with one of those sweet dispositions which made her friends with all in whom she came in contact. The funeral was largely attended by friends who feel the deepest sympathy for Mr. and Mrs. Sharpless in their loss.
