A native of Titusville, he was born on September 13, 1905. He was employed by the State Road Department.
Surviving are his wife, Mattie Carlile of Indian River City; 2 sons, David N. Carlile, Jr., and James T. Carlile, Sr., both of Titusville,; 2 daughters, Mrs. Dean Stauffer of Wilshire, O., and Mrs. Thomas Pulliam of Wake Forest, N. C.; 2 brothers, James W. Carlile and Tony A. Carlile, both of Titusville; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Jettie Cottrell and Mrs. Irene Hall, both of Titusville.
Funeral services will be held in Smith Chapel at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Dr. W. S. Hardin, pastor of First Baptist Church of Titusville, will officiate. Local interment will take place under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in the family plot in LaGrange cemetery.
Pall bearers will be: Clyde Babes, Leland Dolan, Bennie Lee, Guy Boyd, Bertie Lee Merkerson and Alfred Carter.
Honorary pallbearers will be fellow employees of the S.R.D.
