Viola (Smeltzer) Clark, 81, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at York Hospital. She resided at Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late James Thompson Clark.

Mrs. Clark was born in York, on April 15, 1929, a daughter of the late Howard and Elsie Smeltzer.

She was self employed as a beautician for over 30 years. Mrs. Clark was a member of New Harmony Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of J.M. Hyson Memorial Court, Order of the Amaranth.

Mrs. Clark leaves a son, Bartley J. Clark and his wife, Diane of Red Lion, and a daughter, Vickie C. Hannigan of York.

Interment will be in New Harmony Presbyterian Cemetery.
