Darrell Olson was born in Alexandria, Minnesota on April 9, 1950, the son of James and Flora Mae Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Calvary Lutheran Church. Darrell graduated from the Alexandria High School in the Class of 1969 and attended the Area Tech School. On April 25th, 1970 he was united in marriage to Susan Hintzen. Darrell was injured in a motor bike accident on Friday evening, June 11th and passed away at General Hospital in Minneapolis on Sunday, June 13th, 1971. Surviving are his parents; two brothers: Dennis and Donovan; his grandfather, Pete Olson and his grandmother, Mrs. Vera Johnson. He was preceded in death by a brother Douglas in 1967.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 19, 1971 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Minnesota. Rev. Giles Ekola officiating. Pallbearers were Perry Jung, Terry Jung, Robert Thompson, Darry Derks, Bennie Hedstrom and Zaphru Kurien. Interment was at Christine Cemetery, Evansville, Minn.
