Dennis Allen Olson was born on August 18, 1947, in Alexandria, Minnesota, to parents James Olson and Flora Mae (Johnson) Olson. Dennis was baptized and confirmed at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria. He also attended the Alexandria school system and during his high school years worked at the Blue Ribbon Bakery. Dennis graduated from the Alexandria High School in 1966. He then entered the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam. After being discharged he worked for Herzog Roofing and Soo Line Railroad. Dennis died on Monday, September 22, 2003 at his home in Alexandria.
He is survived by his parents: James and Flora Mae Olson of Alexandria; and one brother: Donavan of Alexandria. He is preceded in death by his two brothers: Douglas and Darrel.
Funeral Service was held on Monday, September 29, 1:30 p.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend Eric Erickson officiating. Organist was Becky Worley and soloist was Harlan Angen.
Pallbearers were Richard Vendel, Dennis Nack, Joe Sorensen, Ronnie Olson, Larry Ness, Dale Johnson, Miles Olson, David Picotti and Jim Quinn. Burial was at Christina Lake Cemetery in Lund Township.
Services were directed by Petermeier's Alexandria Funeral Care and Cremation Service.
