Robert "Bob" J. Blumel, 64, of Rumson, passed away at Toms River Community Hospital in Toms River on July 8, 2010. He was born in Long Branch and lived in Rumson. He was a graduate of Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School, a communicant of Holy Cross RC Church of Rumson and Robert was an avid water and snow skier. He also was a past member of the former Jersey Ski-Ters Water Ski Club. Robert was an employee of the Borough of Rumson. Robert is predeceased by his parents, Elmer F. and Grace (Flannelly) Blumel. Surviving is his brother and sister in law, Elmer "Butch" and Nancy Blumel; and his sister and brother in law, Janet and John McGuire. Also surviving are his six nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
