From Rootsweb:

Her husband Robert was a carpenter. He was a Veteran of the Civil War, attended the reunion of Soldiers at Palestine, IN in October 1884. The diary of Hendeson Graves mentions several times that Bob had a severe infection or possibly cancer affecting the roof of his mouth which often prevented him from working as a carpenter at the Mill in Merom, IN. He went to Cincinnati for surgery to alleviate this condition; apparently that treatment wasn't too successful. It forced him to return to Merom from Kansas and he was in bad shape at the end of the diary.

From Henderson Graves' diary: Feb 8, 1885, "...We were at Bob's today. Bob has sold out and talks of going to Kansas or Missouri. I think he will go to Missouri if he goes at all..". May 19, 1885 "...Bob started to Kansas. He was in poor health. Case went with him..". Jul 2, 1885 "...Bob came home yesterday and was here today and Elzary and the girls...".
