Services for Garrett Wallace Alberts, 69, were held at Oak Street Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Barney Roark and assisted by Rev. J.P. Stevenson, the pastor. Mr. Alberts moved to Young County, Texas in 1905 from Collin County, Texas. He was a member of the Methodist Church since 1896.
The love and high esteem held for Mr. Alberts by his neighbors and friends were expressed by the large crowd in attendance at the funeral.
Survived by his wife; eight children - Lawrence Alberts, Gean Alberts, Steve Alberts, Fay Alberts, Mrs. S.R. Walker, Mrs. H.M. Goldston, Mrs. Frank Cox, Mrs. C.L. Buttrick; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister - Mrs. Edd Turner.
