David Franklin Gruver, 43, of 1301 Baker Lane, Winchester, VA died Sunday at his home.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday by family and the Reverend William Wade. Burial will be in Reliance Cemetery.
David was born August 3, 1950, in Front Royal, VA, the son of Nelson and Thelma Evans Gruver of Reliance, VA, grandson of Grace Beatty Evans of Middletown, VA and the late Elmer F. Evans and the late David and Nellie Gruver.
He graduated from John S. Mosby Academy in Front Royal, VA and the Scott International Beauty School in Martinsburg, WV. Upon graduation from beauty school he worked at Modern Beauty Salon in Front Royal before becoming an owner and operator. He also had David's Hair Designs in Woodstock and Shear Pleasure in Winchester, VA. He worked at numerous other shops including Colonial Hair Stylist and Regis at Apple Blossom Mall. He was licensed in Virginia and Florida.
Surviving with his parents is a daughter, Jennifer Gruver Brinklow and son-in-law, Rodney E. Brinklow of Front Royal, VA; and his grandmother, Grace Evans of Middletown, VA; one sister, Joyce Ann Gruver Dunlap of Stephens City, VA; two brothers, Guy T. Gruver and Robert L. Gruver, both of Reliance, VA; and two nephews, Shawn Michael Smith of Inwood, WV and Robert E. Gruver of Reliance, VA.
Pallbearers will be Dale DeHaven, Bob Franklin, Bobby Gruver, Guy T. Gruver, Clay Robinson and Roger Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Cather, Bernie Phelps, Richard Kibler, Dr. Mark Galbraith, Tammy Pyne, Staccee Ramey, Bob Unstad and members of the Northern Virginia Cosmetology Association.
