Sylvia Elizabeth Beane, 91, died March 31 at "Ellinwood District Hospital, Ellinwood. Born April 1, 1918, at Malinta, Ohio, she was the daughter of Caleb Wheeler and Cleopatra Ketring Zook. She was an Eliinwood resident for nearly 40 years, and was formerly of Pratt. She married Wesley E. Beane on Dec. 11, 1937, at Newton. He died Nov. 18, 1989. She had been a clerk at Duckwall's in Pratt and Great Bend and worked at Davis Manufacturing in Pratt.
Mrs. Beane was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ellinwood.
Durvivors include two daughters, Victoria Sue Haubenchild of Denver, Colo., and Kathleen Chancellor of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Jerry Beane, a granddaughter, Lora Hoffman, one brother and six sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, Ellinwood, with Pastor Jason Winget officiant. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.
