David, age 65, of Madison, passed away on Sunday. He was born the son of Frank & Regina (Ripp) Ackerman.
David was a career salesman and spent many years traveling throughout the United States working with the Gerber Baby Co., Koh-I-Noor, and Mont Blanc. Later he was self-employed, selling internet advertising for educational groups. His passion for travel was sparked by his work and this passion inspired his children to travel the world.
David was an avid reader, Badgers basketball fan, and gourmet cook. He had a fascination with people and places, with an interest in genealogy. David shared his keen interest and knowledge of history with family and friends and he loved to talk and debate the impact of historical events on contemporary society. He was well versed in the world's religions.
David loved spending time with his children. He adored his granddaughter and loved spending time with her, sharing in the joy of life. He enjoyed seeing his son Jeff's dog, Bohdi, buying her special treats.
David is survived by his daughter, son, grand-daughter, two sisters, brother, mother of his children and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard and Jerry.
Funeral services were held at the Funeral Home on Thursday with Father Francis Schmitt presiding. Kristine & Jeff would like to thank the family who surrounded David in love at the hospital.
Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Centers assisted with arrangements.
