CORNIBE Joyce Cornibe Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at an 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans, La., for Joyce A, Cornibe, age 74, the former Joyce Ackerman, who died on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Fletcher Cornibe; one daughter, Tanya Cornibe; two sons, Dale Cornibe and his wife, Kim and Scott Cornibe; two grandchildren, Caleb Cornibe and Sophia Cornibe; one sister, Janet Ackerman and one brother, Ken Ackerman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Ackerman and the former, Regina Ripp; three brothers, Richard Ackerman, Jerry Ackerman and Dave Ackerman.
Mrs. Cornibe was born on June 20, 1938 and was a native of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin.
She resided in New Orleans, Louisiana until 2005 and then made her home in Lafayette until now. Mrs. Cornibe retired as Senior Engineer Assistant with Shell Oil Company. She enjoyed reading and spending time in prayer. Mrs. Cornibe was a very active member of her church and Lay Dominican 3rd order.
Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana.
