George P. Staege, 64, town of Russell farmer on Route 2, Elkhart Lake, died at his home Tuesday afternoon.
Born in the town of Auburn, Fond du Lac County, on April 18, 1891, the son of Henry and Rose Conrad Staege, he moved with his mother to the town of Russell when a child. He was married to Minnie Mueller of the town of Rhine on April 24, 1913 at St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church in the town of Russell after which the couple operated a farm there.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Henry G. of Kiel; three sisters, Mrs. Anita Adams of Elkhart Lake, Mrs. Ruben Laack of Plymouth, Mrs. Edwin Henschel of Kiel; two brothers, Oswald Brickbauer of Pamono, Calif., and Elmer Brickbauer of Kiel.
He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed Church in Kiel where services will be held Friday with the Rev. E.L. Worthman officiating. Interment will be in Kiel cemetery.
