Sarah first married Joseph Calvin Shaffer in 1882 in Fairview, Henry County, Missouri, with whom she had nine children.
Joseph Calvin Shaffer passed away in 1897.
About 1900 Sarah married James Decker b. Nov 1845 in Illinois, who was a farmer in Homewood, Franklin County, Kansas.

Their nine children were: Nora Belle, Charles Edward, Laura Ellen, Joseph Calvin, Jr., William Arthur, George Emery, Eva Mae, Nancy Pearl Christina, and Ernest.

Joseph Shaffer died in 1897 and Sarah married James Decker on 1 Jan 1898.

Sarah and James had one child together, Olive Lourene Decker Curtiss.

MRS. S.E. DECKER

Funeral Service Tomorrow Afternoon at Williamsburg Church

The death of Mrs. Sarah E. Decker occurred last night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Jerry Norton, of seven miles southwest of Ottawa. She had been ill two weeks and death resulted from uraemia.

The deceased was 62 years old. Sarah E. Landes was born March 22, 1862, in Quincy, Ill. She was twice married. The first marriage to J.S. Shaffer was at Deepwater, Mo., in 1880. He died in 1897. The following year she was married to James Decker in Williamsburg. Mr. Decker died in 1918. The Decker family moved from Missouri to Williamsburg 32 years ago.

The eight children who survive are: Charles and Arthur Decker, Homewood; Mrs. Isaac Jones, Mrs. Jerry Norton and Mrs. Frank Wiscombe of Ottawa; Mrs. Laura Grillos, McGeath, Wyol; Calvin Shaffer, Fairfax, Okla.; and Ernest Shaffer, Ottawa. There are also a sister and two brothers of Mrs. Decker living.

Funeral services are to be held tomorrow afternoon from the Methodist Episcopal Church of Williamsburg at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Robert Medlock of the Free Methodist church of Ottawa of which the deceased was a member, will officiate. Burial is to be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
