Daughter of Ludano Faires and Harriet (Hattie) Robinson. Maternal granddaughter of Silas Robinson and Rebecca Paxson. Wife of George William Allen whom she married March 16, 1902. Mother of Donald G. Allen.

Newspaper obituary (04-28-1960):
Mrs. Nona Allen, 77, who with her husband operated a business in this village many years ago, succumbed at 7:45 a.m. Sunday in the Scott Rest Home in Kenton. Mrs. Allen had been in ill health several years and had been a resident of the rest home four years.

Nona, all her many friends called her by her first name, was born in Ridgeway, June 16, 1882, a daughter of Dano and Hattie Robinson-Faires. Her marriage to George Allen took place on March 16, 1902. Mr. and Mrs. Allen resided in this county, then moved from here to Detroit, Mich., and later to Florida where Mr. Allen passed away June 7, 1949, in Bay Pines Hospital, St. Petersburg.

Following his death, Mrs. Allen spent some time in Detroit, about three years with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Allen in New Richland, and a short time with Mrs. James Emmert. Her pleasant personality and sunny disposition won for her many friends.

Surviving are a son, Don Allen of Detroit; three grandchildren, Donald Joe, George William and Linda Kay Allen; and a brother, Lant Faires of Lima. Two sisters, Mrs. Dema Williams and Mrs. Reba Moore, preceeded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Reed Funeral Home. The Rev. Henry M. Lynd, pastor of the local Methodist Church, was in charge and internment was made in the Ridgeway Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were William Watters of Lima, Theodore Williams of Dayton, Junior Moore of Columbus, and Joseph K. Allen, William Allen and James Matthews.
