Doris M. Allen, 59, Tonasket, died Friday, April 25, 1997, at home.
She was born December 1, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Jerry and Flora Shrable.
Doris attended the Brewster Schools, graduating from the Brewster High School in 1956.
Shortly after graduation, she married Ray Breckenridge. To this marriage, two children were born. They were later divorced. In 1982, she married Stan Allen in Casa Grande, Arizona. They lived in Brewster, then in 1990 moved to Aeneas Valley.
Doris was an active person, enjoying gardening, sewing and raising ducks. She also worked as a nurses aide at the North Valley Nursing Home in Tonasket. She was a very generous person who gave a lot and asked for little.
She is survived by her husband, Stan, at home; father, Jerry Shrable, Brewster, one son, Jeff Breckenridge, Bridgeport; one daughter, Carol Roaldson, Hillsboro, Oregon; four brothers, Lowell, Kenneth and Gordon Shrable, all of Brewster, and Jim Shrable, East Wenatchee; one sister, Delores Lindgren, Issaquah and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one grandchild.
Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday, May 3, 11:30 am at the Brewster Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Okanogan Animal Shelter.
