Lennie Leona Hanks Alley, age 87 of 3610 South Main St, Blacksburg and formerly of Pulaski passed away Monday, April 25, 2005, at the Montgomery Regional Hospital. Born Feb. 28,1918 in Woodlawn, VA, she was the daughter of the late Otie & Jane Hanks. Her husband, James Paul Alley, one son, Thurman Alley and one daughter, Geraldine J. Cromer also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Bobwhite Blvd. Church of God. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Farley, Pulaski, Rita Bryant, Palm Bay, FL; sisters, Edith Stratton, Chesterfield, VA, Artie Mae Wessells, Bloxom, VA, Vada Matthews, Hampton, VA; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with Brother Theodore Worley officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory, Gardens, Dublin. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements.
