Mary Emelia Diebold, was the first born daughter of Ignatz and Louisa (Grojean) Diebold. She had one sister, Emma and three brothers; Louis,Theodore and Charles. On Nov. 28,1886 in Scott County, Missouri she was united in marriage with George Blattel and they were the parents of six children , one daughter and five sons. About 1909, they moved their family to Laclede County, Missouri where they purchased a farm in the Prosperine area and remained until their passing.
