Woodson Fred Harmon, 52, of Auburn, AL passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007, at East Alabama Medical Center following a brief illness. Fred was born in LaFayette, AL on October 28, 1954, and was the son of the late Woodson Riser Harmon and Elizabeth Bailey Harmon. He is survived by his mother and his children, Woodson Daniel Harmon, Holly Jessica Harmon and Jillian Jackson Harmon; grandson Woodson Oliver Harmon, and granddaughter Skyler Marie Knox; four sisters, Elaine (Tommy) Jacobs, Sharon (Steve) Cook, Tammy Harmon and Beth (Ted) Felder; two brothers, Howard (Lisa) Harmon and Bradley (Anne) Harmon; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Fred was a hardworking, outgoing man who loved people and cherished a simple life. Those countless friends and loved ones that he leaves behind will greatly miss his wonderful and caring heart. Fred's natural talent for poetry, storytelling, and music leaves us a legacy in word and music with over one hundred original songs. He loved to play the harmonica and was a master builder. Without a doubt, Fred Harmon brought love, laughter, and happiness to everyone he met.
Funeral services for Mr. Harmon will be held at Rock Spring Baptist Church, County Road 62, LaFayette, on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 4-6 p.m. at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette.
