Born abt 1752-55 in "British America"
HE WAS NOT BORN IN 1730-33
The location of the 13 colonies was called British America prior to the event of the Revolutionary War in 1776 and the subsequent naming of the United States

Son of Peter Thomas Hull
and Susannah Margaretha Dieffenbach

This Military stone was ordered by George W Cleek in 1932. Mr. Cleek was the author of Early Western Augusta Pioneers 1957.

Please note that significant errors were made in the reference books by George W Cleek and Oren F Morton, and others who in turn referenced these two author's in their own work. DNA testing and the exhaustive research done by the Hull Family Association genealogist and others in current years show many corrections to these original works. This note added: October 5, 2013.

NOTE: Contrary to popular belief, this tombstone is not the stone of his father, Peter Thomas Hull b. 1706-13 nor did Capt.Peter Hull marry Barbara Keith. He married Barbara Penninger. Barbara, wife of Peter, signed in German script. Barbara Keith was not German, but Scotch-Irish. The will of Peter Thomas Hull indicates that Susannah was the mother of his son Peter so he was not born in 1730-33. The will, in German does not say step-mother. He was born 1752-55. Francis Hull was not his half-brother though reported as such in many family trees. Also disproven are supposed brothers, Henry, Robert, William, David, John, and Joseph. These males have been disproven by the Hull Family Association through study of various records including wills and land records and DNA testing.

The Shinaberry Cemetery was apparently originally called Kinkead Cemetery and the name changed along with property ownership. The description of where the cemetery lies is the same - between Hightown and Bluegrass.
