Memorial services for Conrad M. "C.M." Brack, 79, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Internment will follow in Great Bend Cemetery.

Mr. Brack died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

He was born March 5, 1929, in Larned, the son of Sol M. and Neva Strader Brack. He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1947. He later attended Kansas University and graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1954.

Mr. Brack taught school briefly before he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a real estate broker from 1954 until he retired in 2006. He was president and co-founder of the Great Bend Board of Realtors.

He was a past member of the Great Bend Jaycees. He was an Eagle Scout, member of Order of the Arrow and a Scoutmaster. He was a commander of American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend and a longtime member of the Elks Club in Great Bend and Lawrence. He was also a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Great Bend.

He married Betty Armstrong on Dec. 10, 1960, in Great Bend. They moved to Lawrence in 1969. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Steve and wife Jenny, Lawrence; a daughter, Constance Brack, Hayward, Calif.; two brothers, Karl and Ned, both of Great Bend; seven nephews; five nieces; and a step grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack.
