Elizabeth was the daughter of Martin Mauer and Martha E. She married Edward Wollesen in 1915. They were the parents of Everett, Edward, Alfred, Lucille, Mildred, and LaVerne.


OBITUARY - The death of Mrs Edward Wollesen, who lived a short distance west of Lake View and who had lived in this vicinity all her life, occurred Tuesday evening Sept 30 at 7:40 at her home. She had been in failing health since early spring. About 2 months ago she was taken to the hospital for treatment and underwent an operation. Later she was brought to her own home but was unable to talk or move. Death was due to cancer of the brain and pneumonia.

Elizabeth Catherine Wollesen, daughter of Martin and Martha Mauer, was born near Wall Lake, IA on May 13, 1893 and died Sept 30, 1941 at the age of 48 years, 4 months, and 17 days. In 1915 she was united in Holy wedlock with Edward Wollesen. This union was blessed with six children: Everett, Edward, Alfred, Lucille, Mildred, and LaVerne.

Through her congenial nature she had endeared herself not only to her family but also to a host of friends to whom the news of her affliction came as a saddening shock. Patiently she awaited the day of her release.

Besides her husband and 6 children, she leaves a brother, John Mauer; a sister, Mrs Albert Franck; and 2 half brothers, William and Henry Mauer.
