Mrs. Jennie M. Dwson, 89, mother of Bert Dawson, city treasurer and dean of boys at East Liverpool High School, died this morning at 8:15 at the Greystone Nursing Home in Wellsville after a long illness.
Mrs. Dawson had resided with her son at 1814 Lisbon Street, before going to nursing home two years ago.
She was born near Hookstown, April 21, 1876, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Johnston. A lifetime resident of the area, she was a member of the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church in Hookstown. Her husband, Avery Graham Dawson died April 22, 1950.
She leaves another son, Claude H. Dawson, of East Liverpool; a sister, Mrs. Earl Cunningham of Washington, PA., three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
