Cathrine was born in (Breadalbane) Broadalbin, Scotland. She married William Reid Esq. on may 25, 1764 before they sailed to Basking ridge, NJ to build a flax mill for Lord Stirling and then moved to upstate NY at the request of Philip Schuyler.
The stone to the right of hers is Duncan and Catherine Campbell McArthur. Catherine Campbell McArthur was born the same year as Cathrine Campbell Reid. Cathrine's son Major John married the second Catherine's daughter Margaret in 1793.
In the Old Scots Cemetery photo at left stands twin Mildred Reid 1930-2020 a descendant of Cathrine Campbell Reid who has travelled thru Scotland and helped me with find Scottish ancestors.
Cathrine was not buried in the South Argyle cemetery with her husband because that cemetery was not established yet in 1793.
