A TRIBUTE TO GRANNY BELLE

I've searched for Granny Belle's obit and have not been able to find a complete one. I haven't given up by no means, and will add it to these remarks when I do obtain it.

Granny Belle is an "unsung hero" She lived the hardest of lives. It was not easy for a "single" mother in the early nineteenth century!

I do want everyone to know is that Granny loved her family dearly and worked very hard to help us. Even when I was growing up she would sit for hours during the canning season and peel peaches, apples, snap green beans, shuck corn, shell peas etc. What ever was in season, she helped preserve for the winter. She always lived close which was a blessing and....she simply adored her only son and my beloved father William Garrett Hutchings.
