Arlon C Melton
Arlon C. Melton,70, of Roby died March 1, 19981 at the Fisher County Hospital after a lengthy illness .Services were at 4 p.m. Monday at the Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan. Rev. Loren Gardner, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiated with burial following in the Roby Cemetery.
Born on May 13, 1910 to the late Henry Clay and Annie Melton, he was a lifelong Roby resident. He married Virginia Neves on October 31,1931 in Roby. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Roby. A retired farmer, Mr. Melton served as a past president of the Roby Lions Club and was a member of the Roby Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Guy Melton, and a sister, Claudean Piper of Dallas. Mr. Melton will be missed by the loved ones who survive him, his wife of the home; a son, Jimmy of Sweetwater, and a daughter, Ginger Jones, of Berlin, Germany; a brother, Dick of Roby; four sister, Ola McGinnis, Ora Bennett, Eula Feagan, and Fila Campbell, all of Roby; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Charles Webb, Melville Jarnagin, Cecil King, Roy Noles, J. T. Palmer, and H.T. Neves.
