Mrs. Rebecca Swank, of Rock Island passed away Monday morning at St. Anthony Hospital following a stroke. She was 73 years old.

She was born in Le Claire, Iowa, on September 1, 1857, her maiden name was Rebecca Shannon. She was a member of the Rock Island Centenary M. E. Church; and the Eastern Star Lodge of Coal Valley.

November 7, 1872 she was married to John C. Swank in Zuma township. He passed away in September, 1910.

She leaves the following daughters and sons: Harry, Samuel, Mrs. Chas. Meehan, all of Rock Island; Mrs. Wm. Luchman, Mrs. Milton Babcock of Moline; Mrs. Harry Long of Coal Valley; David of Turtle Lake, Wis.; Frank of Chicago. She leaves two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Clara Farlie of Cambridge; Mrs. Jas. Williams of Albia, Iowa; James Shannon of Silvis. She leaves thirty grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.

Funeral was held from the Knox funeral home in Moline and burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
