Grace Helen Backer, aged 92, resident of Horatio, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 1994 in Ashdown. Graveside services were held at 10 A.M. Saturday, Dec. 10 at Piney Cemetery in Cross Roads with Ministers Fred Beck and Keith Goza officiating under the direction of Madden Funeral home of Ashdown. She was born Feb. 4, 1902 in Pipestone County, Minn.; and was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Summerhays. Survivors are two daughters, Bette Davidson, and Christine Beck; one brother, Martin Grover; two sister, Erma Burdick and Evelyn Williams; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
