Otha Waring Bowen, 94, Eagleville, died Sunday at a Bethany nursing home.
Mr. Bowen was a lifelong resident of Harrison County and a farmer.
He leaves his wife, Bertha Bowen, of the home; two sons, Audruy (sic) Bowen, Ridgeway, and Deryle Bowen, Moorehead, Iowa; four daughters, Doris Parkhurst and Maxine Parkhurst, both of Eagleville, Edna Johnston, Blythedale, and Jessie Williams, Grand River, Iowa; 31 grandchildren; 88 great grandchildren, and 104 great great grandchildren.

Otha Waring Bowen, son of William and Emily Holloway Bowen, was born January 9, 1892, in Harrison County, Mo. He departed this life at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 17 days.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and his father and mother.
His father died when Otha was twelve years old, leaving him with full responsibility of helping his mother to manage the family and farming. He spent all of his life farming, until he retired 10 years ago, at which time he and Bertha moved to Eagleville, Missouri, except for a few years in Ringgold County, Iowa.
He was married to Bertha Mae White on October 29, 1915. To this union was born four daughters, Doris Parkhurst and Maxine Parkhurst of Eagleville, Missouri, Edna Johnston of Blythedale, Missouri, and Jessie Williams of Grand River, Iowa; two sons, Audrey Bowen of Ridgeway, Missouri, and Deryle Bowen of Moorhead, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife Bertha, of the Crestview Home Inc., his two sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Audrey Bowen, and Mr. and Mrs. Deryle Bowen, his four daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Parkhurst, Mr. and Mrs. Garland Parkhurst, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnston, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Williams. Also thirty-one grandchildren, eighth (sic)-eight great grandchildren and one hundred and four great great grandchildren.
Our father was a quiet man,
Beloved by one and all.
Every one who knew our Dad,
Fond memories can recall.
He lived a very humble life,
Content with what he had,
We never heard him once complain.
This man who was our Dad.
He farmed the land most of his life,
And planted seeds in season.
The seeds he sowed the deepest,
Grows in our heart and reason.
He taught us right from infant up,
And in his gentle way,
He really drove the lesson home.
By living it each day.
He gave us many gifts in life
That money cannot buy.
The gifts of honesty and truth,
We treasure very high.
He taught us to be thankful,
For whatever we had,
But most of all we're thankful,
That we had him for our Dad.
Services were held at the Boggress Funeral Home on April 29 by the Rev. Harold Huitt with burial in the Payne Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Marvin Parkhurst, Jimmie Parkhurst, Richard Parkhurst, Harold Bowen, John McNeal and Leonard Hamilton.
